Cheryl Flannery, Senior Director Security Strategy, Governance, and Risk Management, Pfizer

Cheryl Flannery is Senior Director Security Strategy, Governance, and Risk Management within the Global Information Security organization at Pfizer. Her responsibilities include integrating security protections deeper into Pfizer’s business processes, driving a culture of security ownership within the workforce, leading security assessments of critical assets, operating vulnerability management and security testing services and aligning policies and controls with company risk management profiles.  Under her leadership, her team is dedicated to securing business outcomes and protecting Pfizer’s information and reputation.

Prior to joining Pfizer in 2015, Cheryl held senior leadership positions at a global consumer products company and Fortune 500 industrial gases and chemicals company.  Beyond her cybersecurity, governance and risk management experience, her 25+ year career in information technology includes large scale management of a global ERP/SAP program, IT strategic planning, portfolio and project management, global application services, enterprise architecture, business relationship management and service management.

Cheryl holds a B.S. in Quantitative Business Analysis from The Pennsylvania State University.  She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).  She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Information Management’s New Jersey Chapter, the Chemical Sector Cybersecurity Steering Committee and Board of Directors for Chemical Industry Data Exchange.
